Personal Thoughts: Inspirational

I've learned that if I want to change the world, first I have to change myself. It begins with my heart and my mind.

I seek courtesy, respect, compassion, forgiveness, and understanding. First, then, I must change my mindset. I must be open-hearted, with an open mind, and yet remain resolute in my beliefs. I must understand that I am not the only imperfect person out here; there are others seeking validation. I must trust that others can change for the better, the way that I hope to better myself.

By doing these things, I can learn to love others; in loving others, I can learn to love myself. I can learn that humanity is not lost as I sometimes think it is. When I feel it is lost, perhaps it is I who have lost faith in humanity, and humanity must have faith in me that I am willing to make the change.

My attempt to change is ongoing, and I may never finish until the day I die. But as the old cliche goes, I'll only truly fail if I stop trying. Keep trying, keep going, and know that change begins with a change of heart and mind.
